Aloha! Feeling like you need a little vacation? Come join your Goldenaires “Ohana” (Family) on a mini tropical escape at our “Island Holiday” Luau Lunch on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 12:30 pm!
Sand, sea, sun, a warm gentle breeze and some Hawaiian music – this month, you’ll find yourself in a Pacific Paradise, as quick as you can say, Humuhumunukunukuapua’a! Come hungry, because the Luau will have Ono Grindz (Delicious Food) with Hawaiian-style Plate Lunches – just like you can eat on the beach! - provided by MAUNA LOA HAWAIIAN BBQ RESTAURANT (Menu still being cooked up). Please let us know if you require a vegetarian lunch. Lunch will be served at 12:30 pm (** doors open at 12/12:15pm, people who are mobility challenged will be allowed to enter the auditorium first). Seating is first come, first served, but no need to Wiki Wiki (Hurry) - all seats are No Ka ‘Oi (The Best)! Please remember to bring your own Pahu (Container), in case you can’t finish your Hawaiian feast. Hot Tea and Coffee are included with your lunch, but you can cool off with Soda pop and iced tea, available at the Tiki bar for $2.00 each!
Be ready to swing and sway in the land of the palm trees, as your trip to the isles continues! We are Pōmaika’i (Lucky) to be entertained by the beautiful hula dancers, led by Charlotte Kobayashi, of the Ka Lehua O Nalani hula group – named after the lehua blossom, a flower from the Big Island. If there’s a chance to learn to hula, you can cheer on your friends by saying, “A ‘o ia!” (ah-oy-yah – There, you got it!) Your beachy get-away will come to an end and you will say Aloha ‘Oe (Farewell to Thee) at around 2:00 pm. Guests are welcome to attend for only an additional $5.00.
