GAMES

Contract Bridge - Mondays, 10:30am - 3:00pm.

If you have played bridge previously, join us! No reservations needed, but you MUST arrive no later than 10:15am and bring your own lunch.  Chairperson:  Bill Nicholson

Dominoes - Tuesdays, 10:00am - 12:00pm.

Join us for this fun game! If you have a set of dominoes that you can share, please bring it. 

Learn to Play Bridge - Tuesdays, 1:00-3:00pm

If you’ve ever thought of learning to play bridge, there’s no better time than now. Bridge has been proven to help maintain mental sharpness, boost immunity, strengthen communication and teamwork skills and provide meaningful social interaction. Players must have some familiarity with card games and we need at least three people present in order to have a game. The program is led/taught by Bill Nicholson, Goldenaires member, bridge player and all around nice guy!

Mahjong - Tuesdays, 1:30pm - 3:30pm.

Do you want exciting company and  to mildly juggle your brain? Come learn with us and join the laughter!  FREE  Chinese Mahjong lesson!  This is an ongoing program, call or drop by.  Instructors will assist in helping members learn the game.

BINGO! - Wednesdays, Games begin at 12noon, Doors open at 10:00am. 

Join us for an afternoon of Bingo fun. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome to play. 15 games of bingo are played. Cash prizes. Regular game packs, $5-$1. Special games $1 each. No reservations required. No bingo on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Games usually end about 3:00pm.

Duplicate Bridge (non-sanctioned)- Wednesdays, 10:30am - 3:00pm. 

You must already know how to play; this is not a teaching class. If you would like to join the game, please call the office and we will put you in touch with the group leader.

Open play Tuesdays and Fridays, 9:00am - 4:00pm.

If interested in lessons, please arrive at 9:00am or after 12 noon.  Everyone is welcome and no experience is required! League play begins March-October. It is a lot of fun, great exercise and you’ll meet new friends. For more info, call the Bocce office (415) 485-5583.

Coloring For Fun - Fridays, 10:30am-12noon

Coloring for Fun is exactly how it sounds! Come join us for some great conversation and relaxing coloring activity in the Goldenaires lounge.

ARTS & CRAFTS

WATERCOLOR PAINTING - Tuesdays, 10:30am - 3:00pm. 

Beginner and experienced students are welcome to join this friendly group for a day of painting. Bring your own supplies and instructor Anne Carroll will provide a still life display for you to paint or work on your own subject matter. Students work at their own pace. Instruction is given if desired. A small fee for the instructor’s mileage is requested.

Also, check out the display of paintings in the hallway. Beautiful work from beginners & advanced artists are for sale! We also sell hand-painted greeting cards in the office.

ACRYLIC PAINTING - Mondays, 11:30am - 3:30pm.

Practice your painting skills and create new things in a fun-loving, encouraging environment. Bring your own supplies. New persons may join at any time. Yvonne Brown, artist, helps guide and suggest painting techniques.

CRAFTS BOUTIQUE - Fridays, 1:00pm-3:00pm

Enjoy the fun of learning new crafts while making new friends. The craft group meets every Friday.  They design some items and hand-make all of our crafts -- ideas here are always welcome. Our items are always on sale for a reasonable price, so come down and look at the display in the trophy case and in the Goldenaires office. Better yet, if you have a talent you would like to share with the craft group, come on down and join us.

WOOD CARVING - Fridays, 9:00am - 12noon

A great, inexpensive, fun class that promotes a truly rewarding hobby. Beginners welcome! NO FEE. Students help out, teaching each other techniques and showing you how much fun wood carving can be!

congregate meal program 

Wednesdays, 11:00am - 11:30am (Not served on 3rd Wednesday of the month) RESERVATION REQUIRED

Persons eligible: 60 years and older; spouse of a person over the age of 60; person with a disability under the age of 60 who resides at home with and accompanies an older individual participating in the program. All food must be consumed at the meal-site, no take outs.

For reservations, please call 415-473-4636 one week before lunch date.

Contribution: $3.00/person
